One of the ways SDEEC advances education equity is through advocacy, civic engagement, and education policy work grounded in the experiences of Native students, families, and communities across South Dakota. Working alongside community partners, educators, Tribal Education Departments, legislators, and coalition members, SDEEC helps expand access to civic engagement and supports community participation in education policy conversations.

Through legislative tracking, public testimony trainings, community organizing, and advocacy efforts, SDEEC works to ensure communities have the tools, information, and opportunities to engage in decisions that impact students and schools across South Dakota.
