In Partnership and Purpose: Growing Pathways for Indigenous Educators
RSVP to join the South Dakota Education Equity Coalition for a powerful conversation on the future of Native educator pathways.
Indigenous students deserve to see themselves reflected in the classroom—and that starts with creating real, community-led pathways into teaching.
Join the South Dakota Education Equity Coalition (SDEEC) for a special coalition-wide session with Travis Lape, State Director of Educators Rising South Dakota, as we explore how schools, families, and Tribal education partners can collaborate to support the next generation of Native educators.
This is more than a presentation. It’s a conversation rooted in partnership and purpose.
Together, we’ll discuss:
How to build and sustain “Grow Your Own” educator programs in Native communities
Ways to engage youth early through hands-on teaching experiences
Strategies to uplift and support Indigenous students who are already showing leadership
Tools, stories, and insights to guide action and deepen local ownership

SDEEC Spring North Star Retreat
The spring North Star Retreat provides an opportunity to celebrate our collective achievements, the service of two of our departing board members, and the service of our departing advisory members. It is also a time to reflect on the coalition’s original purpose, the communities we serve, and the leadership of Indigenous women.

SDEEC North Star Retreat
As the Spring North Star Retreat draws near, the SDEEC team is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to gather and share space with all of you! We're thrilled to announce some exciting updates about our organization and the projects we have in store for the future.
Day 1 will commence with a casual dinner, setting the stage for a full-day retreat on Day 2.
We can't wait to reunite with familiar faces and welcome new friends. See you soon!
